Cau Ridge
This walk is currently not walkable (Oct 2025) because of building works affecting either the start or finish (or both!). If and when these are finished and access becomes clear then it will be re-instated.

We did this route one Sunday on a recent trip to the Costa Blanca, having done the route several times in past years. The new development to the east of the former Lady Elisabeth Laude school presented problems as the developers have put a gate at the bottom end, which we were able to climb over but only because no workers were on site on a Sunday. There is a (new?) alternative descent from the ridge which heads off east – not a lot of use if your car is parked as suggested (at 38.728130, -0.006024). Following the alternative descent would lead to an intolerably long road walk back to the transport. Could I make a bold suggestion? The CBMW might establish a route off the end of the Cau ridge, heading either directly off the ridge or down the western side towards the Barranco de Carretes/ Water tank. Indeed perhaps the developers could be persuaded to help as they have prevented walkers’ completion of a long-established and excellent route. I am aware of the various alternatives and pass on my grateful thanks to all your members who write up their routes, not just in this locale. We have used these extensively over 10 years or more.
We encountered the same problems as the previous comment with the new development on the descent from the ridge. We did the walk on a Monday and had to navigate around massive machinery carving holes in the mountainside , tractors, lorry’s and the like. We also got roundly told off for trespassing! I think perhaps this walk should be taken down until the development is finished and a way through for walkers has been established. The walk through the barranc is also very overgrown and has clear.
