There are numerous other sources of information about Walking in Spain. Blue text indicates a clickable link.

In our own area – the Costa Blanca – there are 2 old guide books published by Cicerone and written by a member of our own group.  These are Costa Blanca Mountain Walks – Vol 1: West and Vol 2: East.  These were first published in 1995 and have recently been revised into a single volume – Walking on the Costa Blanca, now edited by Terry Fletcher.

Several other tomes have been published with walk suggestions.  Costa Blanca Walks by Charles Davis and published by Santana Books was published in 2006 and contains details of 33 walks.  Santana Books have now ceased trading.

Rother Walking Guides publish a guide to the Costa Blanca and the most recent edition was published in 2014.  It has details of 50 walks.

A Sunflower book on Costa Blanca was last updated in 2009.

All of these are now somewhat outdated.

Maps

The Spanish OS allow free download of their map sheets providing they are not being used for commercial purposes.  These images can be stitched together and viewed in programmes and apps, although the many fully commercial apps available may make you wonder if you need these. One such app that works well is Oxi Explorer.  In fact many footpaths and tracks do not appear on Spanish maps and have to be ferreted out!  The maps used for the Costa Blanca have been painstakingly created showing an overlay of walked paths and tracks by Bob and Jean Hall.  Other areas that are covered on this site also have Spanish OS source sheets and these can be obtained by contacting the webmaster.
