Pla de la Casa circuit from the south
This is a strenuous walk, definitely not for walkers seeking a flat and easy path, but the effort is rewarded by wonderful scenery and interesting terrain. It starts innocently enough with a pleasant easy stroll along the south side of the Barranc del Manecillo before dropping down to the riverbed. This is followed by a short but adventurous walk along the riverbed. The long climb up to El Collada starts on a nice path that zig zags up out of the riverbed to reach a track. This meandering track leads up to a path where the real ascent begins and some path finding skills are necessary. Next the route heads W and crosses the top of a ridge where wonderful views of the Barranco del Moro can be enjoyed. A steep but worthwhile climb leads to a deep nevera and a short scramble to the summit of Pla de la Casa. There is a pleasant plateau to cross before tackling the steep descent down to a cull. More path finding skills are needed to reach the pass of Les Bardals. From here a steep descent has to be negotiated on a very rough path before arriving at the track back to the start.
