Puente Colgada from Zona Recreativa de Sedella

A delightful start along the flanks of the Maroma massif leads on to a dramatic descent to a rugged gorge with chain handrails and steep exposed steps with suspension bridge and a tricky barranco descent back to a remote spot for a car shuffle.

The grade of this walk is MS/B/Scr/X, which means
MS – Moderately Strenuous: Up to 600 metres ascent and/or no more than 15 km in length with some rough going taken at a reasonable pace.
B – Less than half the route on rough ground
Scr – Scrambling: This implies the need for handholds to ascend steep rock pitches with a sense of exposure to vertigo and where a slip could lead to a serious accident.
X – Experienced walkers route: the route requires considerable stamina and/or significant scrambling skills on rough, steep or exposed sections.

Nearest town	Sedella
Directions to start	Follow the MA126 as it passes the villages of Salares and Sedella and continues in the direction of Canillas de Aceituno. There is a layby opposite the marked access road up to the Parque Natural with space for 6/7 cars. Park here. A car should be taken to the finish point at La Rahige (36.87207, -4.06415) to ferry walkers back to the start point.

Recommendations or Restrictions	The seemingly easy start hides the dramatic and challenging finish which is for only the most experienced with a good head for heights and experience of scrambling.
