Cova Tallada circuit from Javea gun club
Some challenging terrain & many interesting features. A civil war memorial, a short off piste section (a little scratchy). Then a scenic route to the remains of 11 windmills. A level section, then steep descent (one section with chain) to Cova Tallada. Views through the roof into the cave & optional (if sea is calm) a steep descent (scrambling with chains) to a sea level traverse and into the impressive cave (torch useful, not essential). Followed by a coastal traverse with some exposure and steep ascent to 16th century watchtower. Pleasant footpaths back to the Gun Club and its Cafe.

Beautiful walk. A few spots with scrambling. One with a chain for extra hold. If you do the walk in this direction this steep part is in the descent. If you change the direction you could climb this section.
………..or you can start in Denia at Las Rotas with the same result.
June 2019
Apparently there will be attempts to restrict access to Cova Tallada (the cave between Denia and Javea) this year with pre-registration required to make a visit between 15th June to 30 September. Nobody seems to know how this will be organised or policed, but you might want to bear this in mind! It’s to prevent accidents and litter.
