Gilillo circuit
A walk up well graded paths with stupendous views to the summit of Gilillo followed by a wander across the Cazorlan uplands to finally drop down to the Ermita de la Virgen de la Cabeza.

VS – Very Strenuous: More than 800 metres ascent and/or more than 20km in length with steep, loose or heavily vegetated sections.
B – Less than half the route on rough ground.
Scr – Scrambling: This implies the need for handholds to ascend steep rock pitches with a sense of exposure to vertigo and where a slip could lead to a serious accident.

Recommendations or Restrictions | From the A92N motorway which runs between Puerto Lumbreras and Granada take the A315 going N and then the A319 to arrive at Cazorla. Now continue through the town on the A319 towards La Iruela and turn R signed to El Chorro at a roundabout. Proeed into the village street to find a turn R signed to El Chorro and proceed along here to the Mirador on the RHS and turning L towards the Ermita de la Virgen de la Cabeza. Leave a car at the ermita and return to the mirador and drive up (L) to the end of the tarmac through the gate and park a second car here. |
