Tarbena – Segue – La Montana – Penya de Tarbena Circuit
Not one but two summits! A Moorish castle, prehistoric settlement and wonderful views in every direction. A descent through the village leads across terraces and up the flanks of Segue short steep section of hunters path, about 5mins) then a steady climb leads to the Castle & summit. Along an old mule path to stunning views of Paso Tancat, then on to the summit of La Montana. Tracks & paths lead via a font back to the village, with more great views along the way. Mostly on good paths and tracks (some surfaced), with a few short rough sections of path.
There have been reports of a dangerous dog and property owner after crossing the road just outside Tarbena (3rd para in description) – Alternative route to summit may be needed. Will be checked soon.

This is another incredibly scenic walk for anyone not used to mountain walks. It gets you right among the mountains with little effort. ideal for a morning walk before lunch.
Fantastic scenery! Unfortunately the first section of the path from the first road crossing to the Segue is badly overgrown and difficult to follow. We turned round at the first rock band, we were just not enjoying it.
